The original recording of “Heaven” by The Rolling Stones is one of the sexiest songs ever recorded (the other one, if you need to know, is “Nyah” by Hans Zimmer). In a playful attempt to take the song out of the bedroom and into the cocktail lounge, Électriciennes sought out a few friends to step in and reimagine the track. In Buenos Aires, Muhammad Habbibi El Rodra Guerra (El Piso, Pequeña Orquesta Reincidentes) played a newly minted santoor, and Josefina Barreix (Instrumento Óptico, Blanco Teta) went all ‘great gig in the sky’ with a spacey vocal track. Meanwhile in Chicago, Raye Cole anchored the soulfulness of the main vox with a silky rendition that is equal parts ode and tease. The result is an upbeat, sensual melange, which impressed enough the folks at Spotify that they saw fit to include it in their playlist Novedades Indie!
