Reminiscing on those early days when he was working in London, Christian Cooley a.k.a. Leitvox will often mention Massive Attack, Portishead, UNKLE and DJ Shadow as personal favorites, influences and references. It is hardly surprising then that Électriciennes would seek to collaborate with the Miami-based, Mexican producer, being as they seem to be musical kindred spirits.

But coincidentally or not, Charlie T (a.k.a. Électriciennes) was smitten with the video for “A Whole Other Country” – a track by Leitvox for which he enlisted Gavin Clark (UNKLE) – way before he realized that they were living mere miles away from each other.

Their first joint effort – “Promise I Won’t Regret This” – proves how much alike they feel the music, and how comfortable they both can be when things get dark and edgy. The track – written by Électriciennes and inspired on the movie “The Good Thief” – features Carol Raye on vocals and Letivox on drums sequencing and synths. The single will be released in February 2019.
