The schizophrenic pace of modern city life. The fear of missing out. Keeping
our options open, we swing our moods, our tastes, our plans, our lovers and often our personalities. POLAROIDS, the new song by Électriciennes, puts music to our frantic insularity.

The song was recorded by Benjamin L’Hotelier and features Russian singer and model Elle Blink – who delivers a sensual and playful rendition that is not without some darker undertones. The single will be released ahead of the album and will include three reinterpretations of the song:

A classic club mix by Argentinean DJ Javier Penna, an intense and relentless version by Charlie T, and a smooth, pensive rendition by a collaborative group of friends known as the Jumping Gorditos.

POLAROIDS is also part of a bigger narrative. The first track of the homonym album, the song is the first step in the cathartic voyage through a process of healing: Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. As such, POLAROIDS represent a phase of denial – an unwillingness to accept our circumstances.

Just like the girl from Casablanca, who is persistent. She asks: ‘What are you doing tonight?’. But Rick lives in the moment. He informs her: ‘I never make plans so far in advance’.
